New Porous Titanium Plates Now Available
Briarcliff Manor, NY - May 25, 2005 - Metallurgists at Accumet Materials, Co., have developed a powder metallurgy process used to produce porous titanium plates.
Accumet’s powder metallurgy process allows for production of porous structures not attainable by conventional metallurgical processing. Accumet’s porous titanium plates can be used as filters where extreme corrosion is encountered, because of the metal’s excellent corrosion resistance. Also, titanium has excellent wetting properties, and when water saturated, allows water but not air to flow through it as long as the applied pressure differential is controlled. Porous titanium filters have been used in waste treatment equipment applications, because of its excellent properties.
Plate sizes are typically 0.010” – 0.0125” thick and can be made to 7” wide x 7” long. They are 50% porous and have a typical pore size of 10 microns. Size, shapes and porosity can be tailored to meet customer specifications.
For a prompt quotation send size specifications, porosity required, tolerances, quantity and application.
