Ossining, NY - January 29, 2001 -- Ready formulated alumina powders 96% and 99% pure are now available from Accumet Materials. These powders can be formed into dense alumina ceramic components via uniaxial or cold isostatic pressing and sintering. The powders are completely 
homogeneous, guaranteeing constant physical and chemical properties. Now, one can manufacture customized alumina components, quickly and at lower cost.

Adding approximately 25% water to these powders will produce a mixture which can be slip cast. Adding a suitable plasticizer will produce an extrusion mix. Applications include electrical insulators, machine parts, chemical resistant, ballistic, and engineered ceramics.
