New High Thermal Expansion Ceramic Adhesive to 3000 °F

Briarcliff Manor, NY  - May 17, 2004 - REFRACTOBOND TLS, a new single

component high thermal expansion ceramic adhesive/coating used to bond ferrous

metals to 3000 °F, is now available from Accumet Materials, Co.

Accumet's REFRACTOBOND TLS is an excellent high temperature adhesive designed to bond ceramics to steel, iron and other ferrous metals because of its high coefficient of thermal expansion, 7.3 in/in-°F.  In addition, TLS is an excellent  thread locking material for steel hardware.

REFRACTOBOND TLS is a single component material easily applied by brush, spatula or syringe, and is simply heat cured by air drying and baking at a low temperature of 170 °F.  Surfaces to be bonded should be clean and free from oils.  Once heat cured, REFRACTOBOND TLS will bond metals and ceramics to 3000°F.

This unique high temperature ceramic adhesive can also be used as a high temperature coating to protect ferrous materials from oxidation.  Accumet's REFRACTOBOND TLS is available from stock in pints, quarts, and gallons.

Hi Strength Temporary Mounting Adhesive Now Available

Ossining, NY – June 6, 2003 - EZ-Bond temporary mounting adhesive used for temporarily mounting ceramics, metals, plastics and other materials that require machining is now available from Accumet Materials, Co.

Accumet’s EZ-Bond temporary adhesive is a non-hazardous material exhibiting high bond strength which makes it ideal for temporarily mounting materials that require polishing, dicing, scribing and other machining processes.  EZ-BOND is easy to use and adheres readily to metals, ceramics, composites, and glass. The adhesive is simply removed by reheating to its re-flow temperature of 125 ºC, and removing the residue in alcohol.

EZ-BOND is available in standard ½” x ½” x 6”sticks.  A kit of five sticks is available from stock for $75.00, and other sizes can be supplied upon request.

New Alloy For Catalytic Reactions

Ossining, NY – October 8, 2001 – A new alloy of nickel-aluminum-copper used to produce electrodes for catalysis applications and electrochemistry  is now available from Accumet Materials, Co.

The nickel-aluminum-copper alloy  is comprised of a layered structure, with each layer having a thickness of approximately 200 microns.  The porosity and permeability of the alloy are anisotropic: different along and across the layered direction,  which can be an advantage for catalysis applications.  The anisotropy allows for longer contact times of a reactive mixture with a catalyst than would be achieved with an isotropic porous structure.

Accumet’s alloy exhibits porosity between 50 and 53%.  The alloy is available in solid form as discs, rods and plates.  It is also available in  powder form  with particles size averaging 50 microns .  The powder may be pressed into solid form and used as an electrode.

NEW LITERATURE ON HIGH TEMP CERAMIC LABWARE

Ossining, NY - October 1, 1999 - Accumet Materials Co. now offers, at no charge, new literature describing a wide range of standard and custom size ceramic labware for use in extremely corrosive laboratory environments to 2600OC.

Accumet’s ultra-pure alumina and zirconia ceramics are available in a wide range of standard size crucibles, combustion boats, trays, lids, discs, dishes and rods. These high density, pore -free ceramics are gas tight and extremely resistant to corrosion and high temperatures in both oxidizing and reducing atmospheres. Formulations of these ceramics exhibiting excellent thermal shock resistance are available for thermal cycling applications: Because of their extended service life and overall performance, Accumet’s ceramics offer an economical alternative to conventional refractories . Accumet’s ceramic labware are also available in custom material and sizes to meet specific laboratory requirements.

NEW LONG-LIFE CERAMIC CASTING NOZZLES

Ossining, NY- October 15,1999 - Accumet Material&o. now offers long life ceramic casting nozzles to 3200 “F.

Accumet’s nozzles last longer than other casting nozzles because they are manufactured from advanced ceramic composites, Ceram-S and Ceram-T. Ceram-S consists of alumina and silica and &am-T consists of alumina
and titania. Both composites exhibit excellent chemical and thermal shock resistance. The nozzles are manufactured by slip casting which allows production of complex shapes and sizes.

Accumet’s composite ceramic nozzles are used for high pressure water spraying where wear resistance is crucial, and welding applications where high temperature and thermal shock resistance is required.

NEW HIGH TEMPERATURE COMPOSITE CERAMIC TUBES

Ossining, NY - October 29,1999 - Accumet Materials Co. now manufactures a variety of composite ceramic tubes for use in high temperature and corrosive environments.

Accumet’s composite ceramic tubes are manufactured by slip casting which allows production of tubes in many complex shapes and sizes up to 36” in length. These tubes can be made to close tolerances per customer specifications.

Accumet’s composite ceramics exhibit excellent thermal shock resistance and are inert to most molten metals. Their high density prevents wetting and metal penetration. Typical applications include use with submerged heaters, riser tubes for molten aluminum alloys, and in all types of furnaces.

New High Temperature Corrosion Resistant Ceramics

Ossining, NY  January 15, 1999    Accumet Materials Co. now offers a series of unique fine grain ultra pure ceramic materials which are extremely resistant to high temperatures and corrosive environments.

These ceramics are produced by combining fine grain ultra-pure alumina with zirconia, titania, silica and other refractories.  The unique properties exhibited by these advanced ceramics enable them to outperform conventional refractory materials.  Extended service life and overall performance make them extremely cost-effective

Accumet Materials' ceramics combine excellent mechanical properties with high corrosion resistance to extreme chemical environments.  Low coefficient of thermal expansion and high hardness make them abrasion and thermal shock resistant.  Parts manufactured from these ceramics can be held to close tolerances and are non-toxic.

Applications range from scientific labware to thermocouple protection sheaths, nozzles, tubes, liners, wire guides, pump seals, valves, grinding media, and custom components.
