Alloys

High purity, refractory metal single crystals are now available from Accumet Materials Co. Crystals of Tungsten, Tantalum, Molybdenum, and Niobium are grown by electron beam float zone refining techniques under high vacuum. They can be produced in diameters up to 1/2". These crystals can be oriented to within +/-1/2 degree of accuracy and can be cut into highly polished, strain-free discs. These discs are used for surface chemistry research and low energy electron diffraction studies (LEED).

EZ-BOND & Temporary/Wash-Away Adhesives & Solvents

Accumet Materials Co. offers environmentally safe temporary adhesives for use in mounting parts for dicing, grinding, polishing, and other machining processes. EZ-BOND is a temporary mounting adhesive ideal for mounting and bonding materials that require polishing, dicing, scribing, and other machining processes. EZ-BOND exhibits high bond strength and adheres readily to metals, ceramics, composites, and glass compared to waxes. It is easily removed by reheating to its reflow temperature of 125 ºC, and then removing the residue in alcohol.

EZ-BOND-WS is a water-soluble, biodegradable, non-toxic, and non-hazardous polymer-based adhesive used to make temporary and permanent bonds. It is ideal for bonding metals, wood, epoxy glass, fiberboard, ceramics and many other materials. EZ-BOND-WS exhibits tensile strength of 500-100 psi on aluminum and resists most organic solvents, including toluene, methyl-ethyl-ketone, jet fuel, and d-limonene. If the bond is mechanically broken, it can simply be moistened and re-joined. EZ-BOND-WS retains its bond strength even after temperature cycling between 30 and 60 ºC at 85% humidity!

Accu-Solv is an environmentally safe material used as a solvent to remove temporary adhesives and waxes such as glycol phthalate used in semiconductor processing and machining, as well as in dicing and polishing ceramics and metals. Accu-Solv is biodegradable and is an ideal replacement for solvents such as acetone and MEK. Accu-Solv is a powder that, when dissolved in hot water, dissolves waxes and oils and can also remove silicones, greases, and finishing compounds. The material is compatible for use on silicon, iron, aluminum, zinc, brass, copper, magnesium, glass, and optical components.
